The Longitudinal and Life Course Studies journal: a milestone

2018-09-17

The Society for Longitudinal and Lifecourse Studies (SLLS) is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of negotiations to go into a partnership with Bristol University Press (BUP) to publish Longitudinal and Life Course studies. The agreement was signed on Sept 14 2018. BUP have seen that our journal merited the very favourable terms they have offered.

The BUP is a new non-profit University Press with particular interest in the social sciences. They have grown out of Policy Press, which has been publishing for the past 20 years, and are increasing their portfolio of journals. Their expertise and marketing networks will bring many benefits to the editors and readers, and will help bring the journal to a wider audience, and raise its already rising reputation.

We will be announcing more details over the coming months but are planning for the Bristol team to take over the full production of the journal from 2019, with the first issue of Volume 10. New submissions will shortly be directed to Bristol’s Editorial Manager. Submissions in the pipeline will transfer into that system as and when they are accepted for publication. For a transition period, and beyond, the editorial team will continue to be supported by our esteemed journal manager, Sarah Jeal, on a part-time basis. BUP will also be streamlining our subscription procedures. We look forward to working with them.
