Information For Readers

To gain full access to the Journal's content readers need to register as a 'Journal Reader', which includes the publication notification service for the journal. Use the Register link at the top of the homepage for the journal. This registration will result in the reader receiving the Table of Contents by email for each new issue of the journal. Also see the journal's Privacy Statement which assures readers that their name and email address will not be used for any other purpose. Membership of the Society for Longitudinal and Life Course Studies (SLLS) includes readership registration allowing free access to all the content of the Journal. If you would like to be a registered reader of the Journal, without joining the Society, you will need to pay the “SSLS Journal Reader Membership" annual subscription (£20). For full details of the different types of subscription go to the 'Subscriptions' page.

As you register with the journal you will be asked to enter a username and password - your login details. You then have the option of choosing whether or not you would like these details emailed back to you. The next step is to go to the 'Manage my Subscriptions' link that enables you to pay* the annual 'SLLS Journal Reader Membership' subscription (£20) giving you immediate access to the current year and all previous Issues. Two automatic reminders are sent before and two after the due date for renewal. All Issues of the Journal are available free of charge 12 months after publication.

Because of the benefits gained by Full Society membership, listed below, we strongly recommend the Society membership option.  SLLS members receive:  1. Free, open access to read and publish in the Longitudinal and Life Course Studies international journal (LLCS). 2. A regular newsletter of global news and events in longitudinal and life course research from our President. 3. Substantially reduced fees for attendance at the Society’s annual conference.  4. A link with your regional Global Representative, who promotes SLLS in your region and organises local activities.  5. Collaborative contacts throughout the global longitudinal and life course research community.  6.  Access to capacity building initiatives including annual summer schools. 7. The opportunity to make nominations, be nominated and vote in elections for the future SLLS President and Executive Committee.
